Board of Directors’ Meeting

Lauderdale Small Boat Club

August 13, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM with Commodore Prochaska presiding. All Board members were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Planning’s Report

The Ft. Myers Dingy Run was a great time. About fifty people participated.

Vice Commodore’s Report

A member was stranded inside the Club after hours and inadvertently damaged the gate getting out. The Board chose to pay for the damage, as there was no plan in place for such an event. There is now a plan so call the posted number if you ever get stranded inside the gate. The Charity Event will be Oct.20th. There will be a Bar B Que.

Secretary’s Report

No report.

Social’s Report

The kitchen will reopen the weekend after Labor Day. September 8th and 15th will be workdays to clean up the social area. Volunteers are needed. The Halloween Party will be Oct 27th. It will feature the Rocky Horror Picture Show. November 10th is the 50s’s and 60’s Party with a band.

Membership’s Report

John Wheeler was reintroduced to the membership. He was voted into membership and was duly sworn. There were five candidates introduced for the first time. They were William King, Mark Modzelewski, Richard Masten, Neil Martin and Greg Pickett.

Treasurer’s Report

On revenues of $60,051, the Club had a net gain of $2,385. There is a YTD net gain of $19,343. There were no resignations. Russell Hitchens was removed from the Club for nonpayment of dues. Action against Martin Byrdal was deferred for 30 days.

Docks and Grounds’ Report

Multiple Acme projects have been accomplished. There will be an Acme Day Saturday August 18th.

No report.

New Business

None

Old Business

The petition to change the by law regarding the number of people a member can sponsor for membership and if the cap of 512 members is reached, members’ immediate family members move to the top of the waiting list was voted upon. The by law was changed.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn. The motion carried.
