Lauderdale Small Boat Club
General Meeting
October 8, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM with Commodore Prochaska presiding. All Board members were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Local DJ Rick Shaw was introduced by the Commodore. He gave a presentation about the "Magic Children’s Fund" to promote the Charity Event. After his presentation, members donated a great deal of money.
Planning’s Report
The Planning Committee was selected in accordance with the by-laws of the Club. The Committee walked the docks and premises and noted areas of concern. The information gathered is still under study, but it is obvious that it will be a large project. More information will come in the next few months. November 3rd there will be a Meet Your Neighbor Party in the parking lot by the Pilothouse.
Social’s Report
The Charity Event will be held October 20th. Volunteers need to show up at 8:30AM. There are numerous jobs that need to be staffed. Tents need to go up and tickets need to be sold. There are jobs for all. Please volunteer for the day.
October 27th will be the Halloween Celebration. The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be the entertainment. Please come in costume. This is a covered dish affair. Adults only are invited.
Treasurer’s Report
On revenues of $53,895, there was net gain of $7,776. Two members resigned in good standing. Anthony Gurlig did not pay after notice. He was removed from membership.
Docks and Grounds’ Report

Secretary’s Report

Vice Commodore’s Report
Donations are still needed for the silent auction. Please solicit or give yourself. All donations are appreciated. Boat inspections will be conducted in January and February. Get your boat and dock in shape. Please insure that your dockbox is the proper size. Check with the Dockmaster for maximum dimensions.
Membership’s Report
Two candidates were reintroduced. Thomas Terwilliger and Michael Jaramillo were voted into membership and duly sworn.
Commodore’s Report
The Commodore reinforced that we need to keep our property neat. Each slip is allowed only one dockbox.

The fuel dock will be closed October 26th through November 4th. There will be two Acme days during that period to help contain the cost of the project.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn. The motion carried.
