Minutes of the General Meeting

Lauderdale Small Boat Club

July 9, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM with Commodore Prochaska presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. All Board members were present.

Planning’s Report

The Dingy Run will be held in Ft Meyers July 27, 28 and 29. The Bimini Run will be held Aug 31 through September 3. Sign in sheets are located at the pilothouse and the clubhouse.

Membership’s Report

There was one candidate to be introduced and two candidates to be reintroduced. The two candidates, Lester Wadsworth and Jason Hall were reintroduced, voted on and duly sworn into the Club. John Wheeler Jr. was introduced.

Social’s Report

Dad’s Dolphin Days brought in revenues of $10,849. Prizes and gifts to the participants was $6,600 and $2,000 was given as gas money in a lotto. Food revenue was $3162 with expenses being $3,000. The bar had revenues of $2,200. This Friday there will be hotdogs available.

The Dingy Run schedule is a cruise to Sanibel on Saturday. A covered dish dinner will be held on Saturday night. On Sunday, relax and do whatever you like.

Treasurer’s Report

On revenues of $71,595, there was a net gain of $200. Year to date we are within $1,000 of our projected goal. There were no resignations and no delinquent letters.

Secretary’s Report

Docks and Grounds’ Report

The boatlift is back in service. Thanks to a lot of hard work by many. The fuel dock is under construction. At some point is will be inoperable. We will try to give everyone one week’s notice before that event.

New Business

The Charity Event is Oct 20^th. Please be prepared to give.

The Commodore presented to the membership a petition with the appropriate number of signatures to request a by law change. The change would allow each member, after one year of membership, to sponsor one candidate per year. Additionally, if the membership cap (512) should be reached and there is a waiting list. A member’s immediate family, spouse, child or parent will move to the top of the list to become a member.

There was a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded and carried.
