Lauderdale Small Boat Club
General Meeting
May 14, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM with Commodore Prochaska presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. All Board members were present except the Secretary whose absence was excused.
Planning’s Report
About twenty people attended the West Marine seminar on GPS. Three boats showed for the trans Florida trip. Low water prevented the trip. Instead the boats went to Jupiter and Ft. Pierce. The Dingy Run is coming up in July. Dad’s Dolphin Days are the June event.
Membership’s Report
There were three prospective members introduced for the first time. Sixteen prospective members were reintroduced, voted on and were duly sworn into the membership.
Social’s Report
We need volunteers for all positions. June 1st will be Jimmy Buffet night. There will be a video of a Buffet concert. Dad’s Dolphin Days will need a lot of volunteers. Please participate.
Treasurer’s Report
Last months revenues were $45,422 and a net loss of $10,834. Boatlift repairs were the major expense. Year to date the Club has a net gain of over $8,400. Two certified letters were sent and one has paid.
Secretary’s Report

Vice Commodore’s Report
The Hurricane Plan is now on the LSBC website. It is every member’s responsibility to become familiar with the plan and act accordingly in the event of a storm. There were thirteen anglers at the Kid’s Cane Pole Fishing Tournament. Thanks to all that helped out. Pictures of the Tournament are on the website.

Docks and Grounds’ Report
There has been a great deal of general maintenance around the Club grounds. The boat lift project is progressing well. The Pilothouse will be closed on Memorial Day. If you need fuel, get it before the holiday.
Old Business
The Board was presented with a petition to bestow the status of Distinguished Member two Ken Casteel
and Bill Turner. The members voted to bestow that status to Ken Casteel and Bill Turner.
The Treasurer researched the possibility of putting an ATM at the Pilothouse. He determined that it was not a financially sound idea.
New Business
The Club’s member business directory is being updated. There is no charge so get your information to the Dockmaster.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn. The motion carried.
