Lauderdale Small Boat Club

Board of Directors Meeting

October 1, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM with Commodore Prochaska presiding. All Board members were present.

Planning’s Report

An inspection of the docks and grounds was conducted and there were a number of issues that the Club needs to address. Some are safety-related issues and others are cosmetic. Dockboxes need to be checked for compliance and all gear is to be stowed. The entire planning committee will walk the premises and report at the general meeting. All members are invited to join the walk.

Membership’s Report

There will be three candidates to be reintroduced and one or two to be introduced for the first time.

Social’s Report

There was an Acme Day at the clubhouse. A lot of cleaning accomplished. The Dockmaster and Assistant Dockmaster striped and waxed the floor. There will be a Charity Event on October 20th. There will be the Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween party on October 27th. There will be a Meet Your Neighbor Party on November 3rd. There will be a 50’s and 60’s Party on November 17th. Social noted that there is thought of changing the gifting portion of the Christmas Party for the kids to allow each child to get the same gift. This would eliminate some of the issues of some kids getting better gifts than others.

Treasurer’s Report

On revenues of $53, 985, we had a net gain of $7,776. Two members resigned in good standing. Six letters were sent out and three have paid. Increasing T docks might be one way of increasing revenue to help pay for improvements.

Secretary’s Report

No report.

Docks and Grounds’ Report

There will be an Acme Day this coming Saturday to work on the patio deck. A motion was made and seconded to hire a bug exterminator for $80 per month for the buildings. The motion carried.

Vice Commodore’s Report

The Charity Event will be held on October 20th. Local personality, Rick Shaw, will be at the general meeting to promote participation.
